Kirubel and I met in high school and had been dating for 6 years before getting married. He proposed to me by creating a montage of our lives together and putting it on the big screen at the cinema.

Our wedding day was absolutely perfect in every way, with my favourite parts being seeing Kirubel for the first time looking incredible as I walked down the isle and then also surprising him and our families by saying my vows to him in Amharic (his family’s language- Ethiopian).

Jenny and Gerry’s Bridal Centre was the perfect location for us to find not only a wedding dress, but also hire suits for the groom and groomsmen, bridesmaid dresses, order ties and pocket squares to match the colour of the bridesmaid dresses and also find jewellery and a hair piece. It was so convenient to have everything in one location and the staff are so lovely and helpful.

They went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with our choices and help us choose accessories to match. Giftables was also great to buy dressing gowns for the flower girls. I could relax knowing that once I’d chosen a dress, it would be stored and alterations made in store, and the dressmaker made every effort to make sure the dress fitted perfectly and helped us practice tying up the bustle.

Jenny and Gerry’s helped make wedding dress shopping an enjoyable and very special and memorable experience.

Words can’t explain how truly grateful and blown away I am by the entire experience of selecting and personalising my wedding gown! 

From the very beginning of the process, I had come into the store not having any idea about what dress I was after and was just happy to start the experience of trying gowns on! Within the first few minutes of my appointment, I was made to feel very comfortable and was fortunate enough to have the wonderful Jenny show me a dress she thought would be the one for me! I tried it on and instantly fell in love with it! After many months passing after that (and a rescheduled wedding date due to the COVID-19 pandemic) that didn’t alter the excitement I had to wear my dress! I was lucky enough to have the beautiful Tia help to make my dress even more personalised to ensure that it fit perfectly and to also design and create detachable sleeves on my dress! 

The whole process from start to finish was just perfect, and I felt so supported and appreciated by the whole team. Everyone (especially Jenny) went above and beyond to make sure that every single detail on my dress was perfect, and for that I am eternally grateful!

I don’t think I have ever received SO many compliments in my life until I wore my dress- everyone was so blown away by just how beautiful it was and I couldn’t be happier to have my dream dress created!

Wedding Date – 13.02.21

Our wedding was on a private property in currency creek and featured a lot of bright fun colours, food trucks and the dress of my dreams! We had a great DIY set up with a personalised print we had made as our table runners, bright flowers and hot pink animals for name tags! We had the best day celebrating with our friends and family dancing on the grass under the fairy lights.

I loved my experience at Jenny and Gerrys, they were bright, bubbly and just as excited about the experience as I was. I enjoyed every step including the fittings where I was made to feel like apart of the family and my concerns and feelings were always heard. The professionalism and love in this store was amazing and I would recommend them to everyone.

Finally after postponing due to COVID Paul and i finally got married!
Even though it was raining the rain just held off for our ceremony and our photographer captured most amazing sneak peaks!

We had such a fairy tale wedding and I can’t wait to share the pics with everyone who helped at Jenny & Gerrys! We had to postpone our wedding from July to Dec due to Covid, by a miracle we could do dancing and had 3 lessons for our first dance and nailed it! Mount Lofty House was a dream venue and we felt like we were in a fairy tale!

I found my dream dress at Jenny & Gerrys as I unfortunately had no time to sew my own as planned (being a fulltime teacher now during the pandemic!). My husband wore the Bond Blue tuxedo from Gerry’s Suit Hire and it was such a fairy tale.

I made some major structural changes to my Milla Nova gown: I sewed my own huge hoop skirt, and then added 60 metres of layered netting to the skirt lining to give intense volume! A tiny bit of hand-beading on the front bodice. Had to add my own touch. BEST part, I added 30 metres of fairy lights on a removable belt, worn under the top layer of the lace skirt for the reception and first and last dance. Was absolutely magical, as our venue ceiling was covered in thousands of fairy lights too. Twinkling stars all round! The only photo yet of that is the ‘sparkler archway’ photo in black and white but I hope more will be coming!!
