Dan had caught my eye around town. I was lucky enough, that a mutual friend introduced us one night, out at our local night club ‘Sharkys Bar’. From that moment 12 years ago, I knew he was the one. With house, puppy and two beautiful boys, Dan proposed Christmas Eve 2021 and we set a date of September 2023.
I did most the wedding planning myself with help from my bridesmaids and mum. My mum was a big support even when it came to dress shopping. Walking into my appointment at Jenny and Gerry’s was so welcoming and relaxed. Maria was fabulous and helped me realise that what I was looking for was possible! I found the most beautiful Essense of Australia gown and with the help of Michelle’s custom design, all my dress dreams came true. I felt stunningly beautiful and confident. I’m pretty sure I looked at photos of my dress daily in the months leading up the the wedding. So when the day finally was here, I was super excited and I couldn’t wait to show it off! And most of all see what my future husband thought. (I can tell you he was blown away, even had a tear on my walk down the aisle)
Our day was 38 degrees with strong north winds which we didn’t think was possible for September, but we made it work and was the most amazing day! The ceremony was held under the sheoak trees at Brinkworth Reserve and was completely perfect, with the love in the air surrounded us, from all our family and friends. Having our boys there as the ring bearers made it just that little more sweet.
After photos with the best bridal party, we stopped at ‘Sharkys Bar’ where we first meet in the exact spot for a couple of special photos and sneaky espresso martini’s. Our reception was held at the Port Lincoln Yacht Club over looking the bay. We kept the night simple with cocktail style, and did what was meaningful to us, before dancing the night away with my new husband and all the beautiful people in our lives.
