Hayley & Lucas’ love story began in 2015, when they met at a party. Lucas ‘crashed’ this party, as his brothers said he should come and meet some friends, but Lucas could have never imagined that night he would meet his now bride. Every time the pair would meet up, they would trade blocks of chocolate, as they knew that was the way to each other’s hearts.
Lucas and Hayley both decided to take a chance on love, a year after meeting, and testing all the theories of a long distance relationships, to support one another in chasing their dreams. Lucas would make frequent commutes to college and Adelaide to see Hayley, and Hayley would travel to the farm to see Lucas. Although long distance relationships are never easy, and require dedication, they proved to be the exception and made it work really well. They knew this would not be forever, and after 6 years of long distance, Hayley moved back to the farm.
Since moving in together, Lucas and Hayley have fully renovated and moved into their new home. Lucas being in love with his new lawn, would then send daily snapchats of his grass to everyone. Not long later Hayley and Lucas extended their family to include Lola their dog, and while their life together had started really well, the best was yet to come!
On the 11th June 2023, Lucas and Hayley went away on an adventure for their birthdays, driving to Blinman and then taking every lookout on the way home. The last lookout was at Rawnsley Park looking out towards the Bluff, where Hayley was taking a panoramic photo of the view. While Hayley went to take a photo, Lucas got down on one knee and ultimately surprised her when she turned around. In true Hayley style, she said ‘what are you doing down there ya silly billy’, before Lucas could ask ‘will you marry me’, and of course she said yes!
After 8 years together, the best is yet to come, starting today as they become husband and wife.
Our fun fact is that Hayley is a twin and Lucas is a triplet. We live in Laura SA, on a farm.
Our wedding day was nothing short of amazing!! The venue at Mt Beare Station was the perfect backdrop for a farming couple to enjoy, while still being absolutely stunning! and the colour palette of my flowers from Big Sky Flower Farm was nothing short of amazing. It truely was the perfect day.
In store my experience at Jenny & Gerrys was amazing. Sally helped me find the perfect dress. Her enthusiasm and fun loving personality made it so much fun to try on lots of dresses and as well as her knowledge of what the store had, overall she was the perfect person to help me find the one. After showing her some inspo pics and the dress that was currently coming first…she pulled something from the back and it was STUNNING and a week later it was the one! Couldn’t recommend them enough, so thankyou.
Hayley
